Hi there, I am June and I qualified as a Certified Zentangle Teacher in June 2018 and run workshops for both adults and children. I discovered Zentangle purely by accident when online in 2014 - whilst looking for pencil case contents for my sons' school bags, Beckah Krahula's "One Zentangle a Day" book popped up as a suggested item I might be interested in. Intrigued ("what on earth is a Zentangle?") I had a look and it really appealed - having been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, the mental health benefits of tangling really spoke to me. With a holiday coming up and time to play, I ordered Beckah's book and whilst we were there and the kids were playing, I opened it up and became immersed, intrigued... then utterly hooked. My "tiles" began as squares drawn around a coaster in a sketch book and I couldn't stop - the first six "days" of the book all happened in one sitting. I soon found that not only did tangling turn down the noise in my head, it also boosted my confidence and reassured me that I am actually more creative than I had previously been told (long story there). It helped me focus, gave me an outlet for my stresses and struggles. My love for Zentangle was born in a flat in St Ives overlooking the sea, tangling away to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. My husband noticed how much calmer and happier I was, I had enthusiasm for something again, I was excited by my progress, by the process of creating. So there you go... the beginning of a great love.
Aside from Zentangle, I am also a volunteer presenter for my local community radio station, Marlow FM. I have a longtime and deep love of music, I also really like meeting people, and chatting (who doesn't love a good chat!?). It's a real privilege to meet and interview people on air, play songs for people, feel the shared love for certain pieces of music or musical artists/groups. Being a friendly and approachable person is something that really helps me make the most of both presenting and teaching - I do try my very best to put people at ease and make them feel comfortable, and I am very lucky to have the opportunity to be involved with the community and help raise awareness of so many causes, ventures, charities and projects.
I'm delighted to be part of the Zentangle community and excited to be in the fortunate position of being able offer classes. You can find me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/BaileyArtUK
I cover the Marlow / High Wycombe / Henley / Maidenhead area - being on the Berks/Bucks/Oxon border is a great place to be as it is so well connected. If you are in or near any of these areas please do get in touch as it is always worth considering a slightly longer journey if there is a request for it.
Since becoming qualified I have run regular workshops for both adults and children, and also combined preteen to adult ones. I offer bespoke workshops for private groups, 1-2-1 workshops or workplace workshops where I come to your office to run a class for your team. I can also run children's or adult group workshops as part of your birthday party or gathering - or mixed ages if you like. I am very flexible and am willing to find the best way to make a workshop work for you, so if you want something specific, please just ask. Workshop gift vouchers are also available if you want to give something a bit different as a present, or why not drop a hint that you might like one yourself! I absolutely love what I do and am very passionate about it. It makes me so happy sharing the Zentangle love and seeing people enjoy it and get something out of it - whether it is a connection with their creative side, a tool for coping with anxiety, or increased confidence in their abilities.
